I’m not dead. Just busy. Hopefully I’ll get to write a blog post again soon when I have time. I have *two* tests this week. Maybe I’m just stupid but thats stressful for me lol.

Kidney Walk 2011
I’ve decided to participate in the Kidney Walk 2011 in Ft. Worth. I decided to do this in honor of my mother who currently suffers from end stage kidney disease.
For those that don’t know, this means that she has to endure dialysis 3 times a week for 4.25 hours. Basically, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are ruined for her. She has to spend those four and a quarter hours on a machine which takes all of her blood and filters it through a dialyzer which is a semi-permeable membrane that emulates the kidneys. Her scheduled time for dialysis is from 11AM-3PM every day but with all the waiting and such, plus the extra fifteen minutes, she rarely gets out before 4PM. There is no cure for kidney failure and the only way to fix it is to get a kidney transplant. This walk encourages you to go get screened for kidney problems early because they ARE treatable but once the kidneys fail, they rarely recover and heal.

Brownies
Brittany got me the most awesome edge pan for Christmas. So now I can make brownies or a cake or whatever with EVERY PIECE BEING AN EDGE!
This makes me happier than it should.

Sports
I got to run a sports game from the studio today on KTCU. I had to basically cover the breaks from the remote end with PSAs and sweepers. The only thing that made this strangely terrifying was that I had to read sports scores during half time and I’d never done that before. I am pretty sure I did fairly bad but overall, I didn’t die so I can only improve from there!

Family
I get to spend time in Victoria, TX this weekend with my family. Kinda awesome, kinda not. You know, it isn’t very fun in a place without internet but I’ve managed to jailbreak my iPhone in order to get internets here. At my uncles house, there is WiFi so that’s awesome and helps me from going insane

It is good to see my cousins and stuff though!

Kitties!
I got a kitty for Christmas… Not a real one but it’s adorable. Michael got me a stuffed kitty pillow thing and it’s so cute. It can velcro shut to be more of a cat like thing or be spread out into a pillow sort of thing. So adorable and I just freaking love it! I’ll post a picture at a later date.

If anyone is interested in my IRC network, myself and some friends run one at irc.darkdna.net. There is a webclient at http://chat.darkdna.net/ and there is a forum/info thing at http://darkdna.net. Boring? Perhaps but to me nothing is more fun than old internet protocols that people think are “dead” or “dying” … Kinda like gopher. I’ve never used it so I fail as a geek I guess hehe

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays/WHATEVER
I guess I don’t have much to say other than that. I got some fun xbox stuff and Dance Central for the xbox which is super exciting! I can’t wait to play it whenever I can. Unfortunately, I am in Houston and my uncle has control of the TV for now!
I also got some clothes and a really cool “sun jar” from thinkgeek. I am very pleased and excited for some reason.
Now, my birthday is only in a few days and I will be 22. We will see what happens! How insane. Maybe more gifts to come .

Christmas Time
Christmas is right around the corner and that means some traveling for meeee. I’m off to Houston on Friday for a week and then I get to go to Victoria to see my dads side of the family. It could be fun . I’m just glad I have a jailbroken phone so that I can get the internet while in Victoria. Otherwise I might die
